Why It Matters for Shopify Stores

OS2.0 themes are significantly better for performance and SEO than legacy themes. They use Shopify's native image optimization functions, support Theme App Extensions (which load scripts only where needed rather than everywhere), and provide cleaner HTML structure. How to Check Your Store

In Shopify admin > Online Store > Themes, check if your theme is listed as 'OS2.0 compatible'. Dawn, Sense, Craft, and Refresh are OS2.0 themes. Older themes (Debut, Brooklyn) are pre-2.0.
