Heatmaps & Session Recordings
Heatmaps are visual representations of user behavior on a web page — showing where users click, move their cursor, and how far they scroll. Session recordings capture individual user sessions as video replays. Both tools reveal how real shoppers interact with your store.
Why It Matters for Shopify Stores
Heatmaps show you the gap between how you think customers use your store and how they actually do. Common revelations: shoppers click on non-clickable images expecting to see more product photos, they stop scrolling before reaching the add-to-cart button, or they rage-click a button that doesn't respond (an INP issue in disguise). This qualitative data complements quantitative analytics and reveals fixes that would never appear in conversion rate data alone.

Based on heatmap findings: simplify confusing sections, move high-click non-link elements to become actual links, ensure the add-to-cart button is visible without scrolling on mobile.
